Growing up in a very conservative family (his father was a Methodist minister) He studied at 'Universities of Harvard and taught since 1929 zoologiaMa ended with the move towards sussuologia, to which he devoted himself for twenty years, from 1938 until his death. Prior to devote himself to study sexology, focused in particular on 'entomology in an expedition lasted two years, traveled four thousand km to put together a collection of three hundred thousand wasps.
His name remains linked to the first comprehensive statistical survey conducted in the field of human sexual behavior: 18,000 interviews, personally conducted by Kinsey in 7985, form the material of the famous Kinsey report, that of two volumes: The sexual behavior of male human (1948) and Sexual Behavior in the Human Female (1953).
One of his most famous was the theoretical principles Heterosexual / Homosexual Rating Scale (Kinsey scale) (see previous post), a seven-point scale assessment guidance sex of a subject.
